The Districts

Nothing catches my attention more than a good guitar riff and this band has it. The Districts from Lititz, Pennsylvania have been together since 2009 and have been going strong ever since. The band consists of singer/guitarist, Rob Grote, guitarist Pat Cassidy, and drummer Braden Lawrence. Their music is a mix of alternative rock with folk music roots. The band members all met in high school and started playing around town and gaining a following. This band has grit both musically and lyrically and their live shows are awesome. This band has an attitude that carries a punch just listen to their song, Cheap Regrets. They made their debut in 2012 with the album, Telephone and have released 3 EPs and 4 albums. They bring their audiences into a musical frenzy that almost feels like you are high. Lead singer Rob Grote has said in the past that the band needs to have some happy songs and not be so melancholy. Either way, lyrically this band rocks and their musicianship is impeccable. I can't stop playing their latest single, Revival Psalm because that guitar riff has me hooked. The band just released their fourth album, Great American Painting last month and it's already gaining attention both from music critics and fans. The Districts are now on tour and will be playing in Brooklyn, NY at Warsaw on April 14th so be sure to check them out. Check out this fun and kick-ass indie rock band and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
