British singer-songwriter Jamilah Barry from London has such a smooth sound that I needed to find out more about her. At only 25 years old she has been creating a serious buzz in the music industry. She has been writing her own music since she was a teenager. Her music is a mix of jazz, soul, and R&B. Her sound is very mature way beyond her years. She started getting attention after posting her songs on Soundcloud. She made her debut with the single Dance Moves and released her project Salix Babylonica in 2018. She has collaborated with Silly Q's' and Jack Nichols-Marcy.
In 2020 she released her sophomore record Romance Me and has been praised by such artists as Nile Rodgers and Roy Ayers and a host of others. She has also performed with the mentioned artists. This singer-songwriter has a beautiful eclectic musical palette that is not just R&B, soul,
jazz, or hip-hop. She also brings her Guinean heritage into the mix as well. Last year she released her single Cut Me Open to critical acclaim and she just released her latest single, If The Love Goes. We are waiting to hear if a new album will be released next year.
