Shay Lia was born in France and her parents relocated to the African country, Djibouti by the time she was four. By age 18 she moved to Montreal, Canada where she discovered her songwriting talent. Shay began her career singing songs on Facebook when she was discovered by producer, Kaytranada. He was looking for singers at the time and just happen to come see her video. Since then they have been collaborating but it doesn't stop there. Shay also loves to dance and for her if the beat makes her move then she will sit down immediately and write lyrics.
