Parcels

At first listen I thought I was back in the disco era. This fun band has played with Daft Punk and they are so fun. Parcels from New South Wales, Australia are a five-piece band that makes the kind of music that you just have to get up and dance to. Their music can be described as nu-disco with elements of funk and soul. The band is composed of keyboardist, Louie Swain, guitarist/keyboardist, Patrick Hetherton, bassist, Noah Hill, drummer, Anatole "Toto" Serret, and guitarist, Jules Crommelin.

The band got together in 2014 and have known each other since high school. All the band members were in and out of bands during

different phases but eventually ended up forming their band, Parcels. The band has an interesting story, one that so many artists or bands wish would happen to them. One night while playing a show in Paris, unbeknownst to them were the members of the electronic duo, Daft Punk in the audience. After the show, they went backstage to meet the band and from that meeting, it has been overnight fame and success. Good fortunes were with them on that fateful night. Don't get me wrong the band has paid their dues playing gigs not only in their hometown but have relocated to Berlin, Germany. Why Berlin you may ask? It is a city known for its hub of electronica, new

wave, and techno. Parcels made their debut in 2015 with their EP, Clockscared which caught the attention of the French record label, Kitsuné. After meeting Daft Punk they played them a demo of their song, Overnight, and the duo helped produce the track. It was the last time that Daft Punk produced music together since they have now split. Parcels music is reminiscent of the band, Chic with its funky guitar sounds and danceable beats. The band has released several singles and EPs and last month released their latest, Day/Night. Check out this fun talented band and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
