Moses Sumney’s unique musical sensibilities result from a childhood split between Southern California and his parent’s native Ghana. He developed his vocal style by focusing on a cappella work before he began to play an instrument. Returning to CA, he studied creative writing and poetry, which enriched his songwriting. He’s been recording and releasing music for over five years, with the latest, græ, to be released in two parts this year.
