This singer-songwriter from Southhampton, U.K. has been making quite a splash on the music scene. Laurel, real name Laurel Arnell-Cullen is a classically trained singer and she says that has helped her greatly with her voice. She can navigate those highs and lows very easily. She admits she wasn't the best student because she just wanted to write music and not have to learn the history behind it.
Her musical influences have been British folk-rock singer, Laura Marling and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. As a young artist, she knows what she wants and loves having the freedom to create and sing how she hears it in her head. She not only sings but writes and produces her own music. In 2013 she released her song demo online and it caught the attention of those in the music industry. In 2014 she released her debut EP, ToThe Hills through her own record label, Next Time Records. She released her debut album, Dogviolet, and just released her latest single, Let Go. Her music is a mix of dreamy pop with a chamber music feel.
