Latanya Alberto

Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter, LaTanya Alberto has everyone's ears listening to her smooth mix of R&B infused with soul, jazz, and mellow alternative music. When you listen to her voice you conjure images of a Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, and Indie Arie. She grew up listening to soul, gospel, and jazz because her parents played that music around the house. Latanya Alberto whose heritage is Surimenese and Curaçaoan had a mixture of those Caribbean cultures along with Dutch since she was born and raised in Amsterdam, Holland.

She says she always knew she wanted to be a singer and has focused solely on her music. She is socially conscience and her lyrics reflect her feelings about what is happening both in the world and in her community. Latanya Albert says her objective is,“To deliver the story that needs to be heard, the consciousness that needs to be awakened, and the emotion that needs to be freed.” She made her debut in 2021 with the single, Red Flags and released her album, The Royal Escape in limited edition vinyl. Listen to her song Trouble with its jazz infused groove that immediately grabs you but also its lyrics speak the truth about feminism today and what we can do to change things. Keep your ears open for more from this talented singer-songwriter and we hope she tours the U.S. soon. Support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
