Josh Pyke

After listening to this singer-songwriter from Sydney, Australia I needed to find out more about him. Joshua Jon Pyke or professionally known as Josh Pyke has been making music since 2006. He started playing in his own band by age 12 and had no problem performing for his community at such a young age. At 14 he picked up the guitar and started writing songs.

He applied for a grant from the Music Board of the Australia Council under the Buzz Project. This helped him record his music in a studio which would later become his debut EP, Current Works Volume 1. Since then he has released several EPs and has won several ARIA awards and has charted very well in Australia. In 2007 he released his debut album, Memories & Dust to great acclaim and was #4 on the charts. His continued success has given him great reviews but he is also an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and is in partnership with APRA for the Busking For Change. The latter presents indie musicians the opportunity to present their business plan and provide funding to help their career, a worthy cause. He has released several albums and does not like to be called a pop singer. Oh, he is much more than that. He took a hiatus from music for the past five years and even published a children's book, Lights Out, Leonard in 2019. When you are creative nothing stops the creativity and so Josh Pyke went back into the studio and recorded his latest album, Rome. Listen to the beautiful song, Old Times' Sake, and his latest single, Your Heart Won't Always Weight a Tonne. Check out this super talented singer-songwriter/guitarist and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
