Jaz Karis

The London music scene is not just about jazz. Artists are thriving in all genres, and Jaz Karis is no exception. The South London singer is an alumna of the BRIT School of Performing Arts and is quickly making a name for herself with sultry vocals that incorporate stylistic elements from hip-hop, jazz, and soul.

With her recording debut, a six-track EP called Into the Wilderness, she began to get raves from audiences and critics alike. The Line of Best Fit noted, “Jaz Karis’ magic realism-inspired debut reveals a fierce vocal talent,” going on to add that the track “Sugar Don’t Be Sweet,” a song inspired by Paulo Coelho’s classic The Alchemist“ “ripples with almost otherworldly emotion.”

Also influenced by Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, and Alicia Keys, Karis continues to develop her voice, with a recent single, “Petty Lover,” featured on the COLORS music platform.
