Black Honey

This alternative rock band from Brighton, England has been making music in and around England and it's time to break out of the shell. The band members have known each other for years when they were playing with other bands so it felt familiar when they decided to become a band. Lead singer/guitarist, Lizzy B. Phillips, guitarist Chris Ostler, bassist Tommy Taylor, and drummer Alex Woodward have been together since 2014.

The band not only makes music but also has causes they are passionate about. In 2020 they played a charity show in their hometown of Brighton to support STAR charity (Student Action for Refugees) which helps to improve the lives of refugees and those seeking asylum in the U.K. The band made its debut in September of 2018 with its self-titled EP, Black Honey, and since then has been a band to watch. Their music mixes both pop music and at times some disco beats to make a uniquely kick-ass alternative sound. They released their new album, Written & Directed on March 19th, and their single, Back Of The Bar was released 24 hours ago. We look forward to checking out this band live hopefully soon and I would like to ask them if their name comes from the Japanese Kuromitsu which translates to black honey; I'm sure we will find out. Check out this talented rock band and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
