Bixiga 70

Brazil is known for Carnival, sun-drenched beaches and incredible music. Assimilating West African rhythmic traditions that have evolved since the slave trade, generation after generation has created the perfect beat for lovers of percussion. The 9-piece ensemble Bixiga 70 is fully versed in these arts and brings its own voice and flair to the party.

Each band member brings his own character to the group, whether it be jazz, candomblé religious and cultural influences, reggae or dub. Since 2011, Bixiga 70 has released 5 studio albums, with the latest being Quebra-Cabeça on the independent Glitterbeat label. If you’re ready for some amazing rhythms, Baxiga 70 has what you need.
