The London singer Aii Ocia’s earliest experience with music came when she attended church as a child. It is there she first began singing. Later she learned guitar and piano. After finishing her history studies at university, she began to focus on creating music.
Her debut single drew immediate attention from fans and critics. “Abi Ocia gets it totally right on ‘Running,’ a debut solo release which puts her vocals and songwriting talent on full display,” wrote Complex. In 2017, she released “Konfyt,” a song she labored on for two years and one that Clash calls a “mini-masterpiece.”
Her latest single is “Easy to Love.” Clash weighed in again, lauding the “opaque sense of 80s pop, while the vocal - tender yet strong - has a crystalline quality.”
