Tomberlin

I remember the first time I heard a folk song, it was by one of my favorite artists Joni Mitchell. Since then there have been folk artists whose music I love like Andrew Bird, Dawes, Mumford and Sons, and others. The music has changed to include electronic music and pop music as well as Americana. This singer-songwriter, Sarah Beth Tomberlin, known professionally as Tomberlin is an artist to watch. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in a home where secular music was not allowed to be played. Her father was a preacher at the local Baptist church. She says some of the first albums that she listened to were the soundtracks for the musical Chicago, Dashboard Confessionals, The Place You Come To Fear Most, and Bright Eyes, I'm Wide Awake It's Morning.

After she dropped out of college Tomberlin starting writing songs for her debut album. Her debut in 2018 with the album, At Weddings, was released to critical acclaim. Last year in 2020 she released the single, Wasted which was directed by actress/director, Busy Philipps and her new album, Projections. Check out this talented singer-songwriter and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
