The Big Moon

The Big Moon
The Big Moon

The Big Moon is an all-girl indie rock band from London. In 2014, Juliette Jackson was a bass player and songwriter in search of a band. Three ladies answered the call: Celia Archer (bass & vocals), Soph Nathan (guitar & vocals), and Fern Ford (drums). Jackson became the frontwoman -- while also assuming guitar duties -- and The Big Moon was born.

The foursome first gained exposure while on tour, where they co-headlined with VANT and Inheaven in 2015. That same year, The Big Moon released two singles, “Sucker” and “Nothing Without You,” followed by “Silent Movie Susie” and “It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” in 2016. The group’s full-length debut was released in 2017 to great acclaim. The Guardian heralded Love in the 4th Dimension as “nostalgic indie with wide-eyed conviction” while Drowned In Sound noted admired the “heady guitar-pop choruses that hook into your heart whilst slyly prodding everything in their peripheral vision.” The album also landed in the top 50 of NME’s Best Albums of the Year.

Word has it the band is working on another record. It will be interesting to see if they remain “the epitome of girl power and fun (Atwood Magazine).”
