Australian electronica duo known as Vallis Alps is comprised of producer David Ansari and vocalist Parissa Tosif. With songs ranging from ambient to dance, the duo has been praised for not only its airy, layered textures but also for Tosif’s beautiful singing.
Producer Ansari is originally from Seattle, WA he eventually moved to Sydney where he teamed up with Tosif. Together, they released a couple of songs and an eponymous EP in 2015. “Young” charted at #27, and its success led to an Australian tour that summer and a J Award nomination for “Unearthed Artist of the Year.” “Young” eventually went gold
The duo released more singles in 2016 and a follow-up EP, Fable, in 2017. Touring Australian again, this time they added dates in both the States and the UK. They were well-received, with The Line of Best Fit noting, “the pair delivered their blended brand of synth pop with a fiery combination of intricacy and vigour.”
Ansari and Tosif have been writing material for the next Vallis Alps project, with no release date currently set.
