The Linda Lindas

Lately, I seem to be digging a lot of punk or post-punk bands. This girl group captured my attention with their fun video for their song, Oh! The band from Los Angles, California consists of Bela Salazar(vocals, guitar), Eloise Wong(lead vocals, bass), Lucia De La Garza(guitar, vocals), and her sister Mila De La Garza(drums, vocals). The band got together after lead vocalist, Eloise Wong's father got a call asking if his daughter could play with a bunch of inexperienced kids for a show at the local music festival. Her father suggested that Lucia and Mila also join and Bela Salazar joined

after a friend of the family referred her to the band. Their name comes from a Japanese movie called, Linda Linda Linda and so The Linda Lindas was born. Since then the girls have been a

social media sensation and captured the attention of comedian, Amy Poehler of Saturday Nite Live fame when they opened for Bikini Kill at the Hollywood Palladium. She asked them to record some songs for her movie Moxie and things have taken off since then. The band made their debut in 2020 with their self-titled album, The Linda Lindas, and made their television debut on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. The band is fun and the songs just make you want to get up and dance or pick up an instrument and rock out. They just released their new single, Growing Up which is the title of their soon-to-be-released album that will be out on April 8th. Check out this fun and talented all-girl band and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
