London Grammar

In the past few years, the U.K. has been churning out artists like water, so many talented bands in multiple music genres, many mixing genres, and creating these amazing musical landscapes. London Grammar who hails from Nottingham, England has been making music for quite some time now. Their sound is a mix of ambient, ethereal, trip-hop, and dream pop. The haunting vocals of lead singer, Hannah Reid reminds you of such singers as Florence and the Machine and Kate Bush. In 2009 while attending the University of Nottingham, singer Hannah Reid, and guitarist Dan Rothman had met but it wasn't until Dan contacted Hannah about possibly collaborating that the band was formed. They decided on the band name London Grammar because not only it's where they are from but also that London is a multicultural and international city.

The band released their first debut album, Metal and Dust in 2013 and in 2014 made their American television debut on The Tonite Show with Jimmy Fallon. Since then they have won awards for best Independent Album of the year, Independent breakthrough artist, and more.

They recorded a remake of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game and it was featured on the show, Peaky Blinders. This past August they released their 1st single since 2017, Baby It's You, and just released their second single, Californian Soil which is also the name of their upcoming album of the same name to be released in February of 2021. Check out this talented band and support independent music worldwide. Happy listening!
