Little Dragon

Nicolas Jaar is a Chilean-Palestinian-Little Dragon was born out of a friendship among three high school students in Gothenburg, Sweden. Singer Yukimi Nagano, Fredrik Wallin (keyboards, synth bass guitar) and Erik Bodin (drums) had an ongoing after-school date to play music and spin records. The group’s name is taken from Nagano’s nickname -- one she earned in early recording sessions that didn’t go to her liking.

The group released its eponymous debut in 2007 and has been going strong ever since. Eventually adding Håkan Wirenstrand on keyboards, Little Dragon has recorded several albums and toured extensively, with appearances at Glastonbury and Coachella, performing its self-described electronic soul synthpop.

The group’s fourth album, Nabuma Rubberband (2014) earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. The latest, Season High, was released in 2017. NME raved, “This is a fresh and inventive electropop record with a healthy disregard for current chart trends...This is an album that delivers both mood and melody, thanks in no small part to Nagano.”
