This Nottingham, U.K., native is being compared to such singers as Erykah Badu and Aluna George. Meet Soul/hip-hop singer-songwriter, Harleighblu whose infectious music and soulful vocals are having music fans and colleagues taking notice. Now you may think she is new to the scene but she has been making music and performing since 2013 when she made her debut with the album, Forget Me Not. She has been compared to Amy Winehouse and Adele because of the genre of music and those silky vocals. She started writing songs since she was 7 years old while listening to her mother's Soul records. When she turned 12 she started working with producers and has not looked back. When she was a kid she was listening to reggae, deep soul, and some rare grooves. She has collaborated with the Jakarta producer, Bluestaeb, and has been working with hip-hop producer, Joe Buhdha. Her musical influences are Jill Scott, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill. At the moment she says it's Marlena Shaw. She released her single, Reverse in 2016 which was critically acclaimed, in 2019 she released her album, She.
