Hailing from San Antonio, Femina X is a four-piece alternative Latin group that melds tribal, Caribbean, and electronic beats into a groove uniquely its own. Comprised of vocalist Daniela "ZaaZaa" Riojas, violinist Darian Thomas, Alex Paul Scheel on keyboards and guitar, and bassist Jeff Palacios.
The group released its debut, Multiverse, which earned it fans outside the San Antonio music scene. Its follow-up, Kiva, hit in 2018. Recorded during a period in which Riojas was dealing with the death of her mother, the album is both danceable at some points and haunting in others, particularly the track “Moon Song.” Singing in both English and Spanish, the group is sure to appeal to a wide range of fans across the musical spectrum.
