Curtis Harding

When I first heard this singer I was blown away. The smoothness of his falsetto had me at hello. Meet Curtis Harding from Saginaw, Michigan who is making the kind of soul music that makes you reminisce about days long gone. His mixture of gospel, blues, R&B, psychedelia, with some sprinkles of rock in his soul music is a perfect blend.

Growing up music was very prevalent in his household. His mother was a gospel singer and he and his family would go on tour with her. As a young kid, he would sometimes join his mom on stage and continued to do so till he was 15. He says his sister was the one that introduced him to secular music. When he got older he decided to go out and pursue his passion. In the early 2000s, he joined a hip-hop band named, Proseed and as luck would have it he met R&B singer-songwriter, Ceelo Green. He recorded some raps for him and toured with him in 2002. He later moved to Canada and started writing his own music. In 2015 while at the Beach Goth Festival, he met fashion photographer, Hedi Slimane and he ended up being the face for Yves St. Laurent's Paris Music Project. He made his debut in 2014 with his album, Soul Power. In 2017 he released his second album, Face Your Fear, an album that was critically acclaimed by music critics and those in the music industry. Curtis Harding describes his music as slop-n-soul because of its mixtures of genres and his singing style. His musical influences are Mahalia Jackson, Bob Dylan, MC Lyte, Ronnie Dyson, and the Everly Brothers. In 2018 he released the single, It's Not Over and was on tour with Lenny Kravitz. He just released his new single, I Won't Let You Down and we are looking forward to a new album and tour. Check out this soulful talented singer-songwriter and support independent music locally, nationally and worldwide. Happy listening!
