Blick Bassy hails from Mintaba, Cameroon. He began singing at age 3 and would get up at the crack of dawn to sing with the other children from his village. Being born in central Africa you are surrounded by amazing sounds and rhythms. His music encompasses several different music genres from Bossa Nova, Blues, African folk-blues, and Congolese sounds. He has also recorded in the language of Bassa, just one of 260 languages from Cameroon. In 2015 his song, "15 seconds of Kiki" was used for Apple's global advertising campaign for iPhone 6. He had toured for over 10 years with his former band, Macase when he won the Prix Elysse Musique du Monde in 2001 and decided to emigrate to Paris, France. Blick Bassy has toured globally and performed at many festivals around the world. His latest album is titled 1958.
