Ane Brun

Norwegian native Ane Brun is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter who has been performing and recording for nearly two decades. Her mother, Inger Johanne Brunvoll, was a jazz singer and pianist. With a steady exposure to music throughout childhood, she and her younger sister, singer Mari Kvien Brunvol, were inspired to follow in Inger’s footsteps.

From her home town of Molde, she hopped around other parts of Norway, ventured to Barcelona, and eventually settled in Stockholm, Sweden. There, she recorded her first studio album, Spending Time with Morgan, released in 2002.

She tours a great deal, crisscrossing the globe with a variety of different lineups, from duos and trios to full bands with a string section. Her hard work and collaborative spirit have earned her recognition from international press like Time magazine and the Independent as well the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy awards.

A truly independent musician, Brun also helms her own record label, Balloon Ranger Recordings, on which she has released several studio and live albums following her debut, including her latest release, Live at Berwaldhallen, in 2018.
