The Ocean Blue

Indie pop band The Ocean Blue caught my attention with the guitar riffs from their new single. The guitar sound reminded me of the band The Cult. The band from Hersey, Pennsylvania consists of David Schnezel on vocals and guitar, Oed Ronne on guitar, Bobby Mittan on bass, Brian Tighe on saxophone, and Peter Anderson on drums.

They all met in high school and decided to record some demos. Two songs made their way onto a radio compilation and the rest is history. They were signed to a major record deal by the famous record executive, Seymour Stein of Sire Records (who signed The Pretenders, Talking Heads, etc), and then released their debut self-titled album. After 3 releases with Sire, they were signed to Mercury Records. They have released several albums and are now independent. In 2019 the band came back with a new album, Kings and Queens / Knaves and Thieves, and have released their new album Davy Jones’ Locker which has been remastered. Check out The Ocean Blue who are now on tour, and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
