TWOFER TUESDAY

by Rosie G.

April 14, 2024

This brother and sister with their band Lawrence are making the type of pop-soul music I can’t stop listening to. The duo from my hometown of NYC, siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence have been singing and performing since they were kids.

Their band which is eight members strong has already released three albums. Things started early for the siblings when their father Marc Lawrence, a well-known filmmaker who directed the movie Miss Congeniality, and others needed music for the film.  He asked his son to come up with some music and the rest is history. The band’s music mixes pop-soul, R&B, and funk. They debuted in 2016 with the album Breakfast and it quickly went to #6 on the R&B iTunes chart. They have released a couple more albums and released their latest single “Guy I Used To Be.” The song is already on my playlist and Clyde’s soulful vocals and catchy tune have me groovin. Their new album Family Business will be released sometime this year. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
