British singer-songwriter Bakar is causing somewhat of a stir on the music scene. He says when he started traveling outside London he absorbed all the music around him.

Abubakar Baker Shariff-Far or professionally known as Bakar has an interesting mix with his music. Some label it Indie rock but it's much more than that. He started making music in 2015 by cutting up samples of songs by the Indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club and beat master King Krule. He was posting the songs to Soundcloud and started getting noticed. He made his debut in 2017 with the single, “Big Dreams” and his album debut in 2018 with Badkid. He describes his music as “schizophrenic” and wants to bridge the gap between different music genres. His 2020 song “Hell n Back” was featured in the animated movie, Elemental.

This past April he performed at Coachella and just released a new single, “Alive” from his forthcoming album Halo.
