With a backstory that is as compelling as his music Fantastic Negrito has channeled the narrative of his complicated life into his music. Raised in a conservative Somali Muslim household, his family’s relocation from Massachusetts to the Bay Area was an awakening, both musically and culturally. After two near-death experiences, a failed relationship with a major label, and the birth of a son, Fantastic Negrito strides triumphantly and independently to new heights with each new release, highlighting guitar that brings a heaviness to traditional roots and R&B music.
