Chelsea Carmichael

South London jazz saxophonist, Chelsea Carmichael is part of a group of jazz musicians who have shaken up the jazz world. She plays and tours with Theon Cross, Joe Armon-Jones, and many others. She studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and after graduation in 2016 was quickly accepted into the London jazz scene.

She has her own projects as well as her quartet and performs frequently around London and beyond. Her sexy sax solos are awe-inspiring and she is also a composer and arranger. Popular jazz

artist and cultural instigator, Shabaka Hutchings has asked her to record projects on his label, Native Rebel Records. The saxophone was not her first choice to play as a kid, she actually had asked her father for a violin but he bought her a piano instead. While in high school she took an interest in the saxophone and played with swing bands. She is today one of the most sought-after jazz saxophonists on the scene. She is also an educator and teaches at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In 2018 she released some singles with singer-songwriter, Puma Blue and producer, Lucy Lu. She released her stunning debut album, The River Doesn't Like Strangers last October to rave reviews and just released her new EP, All We Know. You will love the music for she mixes jazz with funk, soul, experimental, and more. Check out this awesome jazz saxophonist and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
