Over the past few years, Meatbodies frontman Chad Ubovich has been through some things. Fighting his way through addiction, the trials of the Covid lockdown, and the aftermath of a horrific accident, Ubovich has come out the other side with renewed purpose. Having to relearn to walk and play guitar after his accident, Ubovich’s music has shifted into a more open and melodic space. Critics are united in delight of hook-laden tunes that evoke some of the best of 90s rock like Jane’s Addiction, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Dandy Warhols on the group’s new album, Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom.
