Bibi Club’s second album has been cited as the album of the week by more than one publication. The Montreal duo, Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque, has created a sound on Feu de Garde that evokes both the 80s and classic French pop, with a strong melodic sense throughout. The guitar reminds me of New Order, and synths are employed to good effect without being overwhelming. The lyrics, though many are in French, evoke a pensive mood to counter the pop feel of the music.
