THE JAZZ CAFE

When I first heard the intro to singer-songwriter Mathew V's new song I thought it was a new Gene Krupa record. Maybe a lost recording is what I was thinking, but it’s the new single by this incredible singer and modern-day crooner.

Mathew V from Vancouver, Canada studied classical opera vocal training for over 10 years and then decided to move to London, England to pursue his career. He wanted to learn how to write pop music and didn’t believe in being pigeonholed into just one genre. He made his debut in 2018 with the album, The Fifth with the single “Tell Me Smooth” which I’m still dancing to right now. In 2020 he released his second album, Two Faced and I’m in love with the song “Not Sorry”. His pitch control is amazing and the song just tugs at your heartstrings. He just released his latest album Anything Goes which is an album of covers of the timeless songs from George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Henry Mancini. Mathew V puts his own perspective on the songs and it's just music to your ears. Check out this super-talented singer-songwriter and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
