JaRon Marshall

If you are a fan of the psychedelic soul band Black Pumas then you have heard of keyboardist, JaRon Marshall. He has broken from the pack and just released his new album full of great jazz grooves that you must check out and add to your playlist.

He was influenced by his aunt who was a gospel singer and by age 11 started his own band with his brother. He didn’t start out as a keyboardist instead he was a flugelhorn player but then things changed and I’m sure the organ at church must have also been an influence. He started practicing at home and his church’s musical director showed him how to sightread. Upon purchasing a computer JaRon Marshall taught himself how to create beats with the sequencer, which changed everything for him. Nowadays he brings his Mac with him and he creates beats while on the road or in his dressing room. He has released a few solo albums such as The Gold Tapes, and The Prequel. Last week he released his latest, Earth Sounds, and it's already catching fire with jazz fans. His music is jazz mixed with R&B, neo-soul, and funk with a sprinkle of hip-hop. We can’t wait for him to tour for this album. Support independent music and musicians, happy listening!
