Social media sensation Chinchilla(real name Daisy Matilda Bertenshaw) has created a platform for herself to show her talents and style. She made her mark in 2020 with the release of her EP, Awakening and it created quite a buzz. She independently recorded and released it on her label and it went to number one on the Billboard charts. This Londoner has style and is super-talented.

She says her inspirations come from Beyoncé, Rhianna, Christina Aguilera, and more. When she was writing for her debut album she really wasn’t looking for it to be a hit record and almost did it as a throw-away project. She was later signed to Sony Entertainment but decided she loved the freedom of being independent. She reminds me at times of both Kate Bush and Florence and The Machine with her orchestrations and big sound. She mixes both pop and R&B stylings in her music with big powerful vocals. She describes her music as “feisty pop.” Her life changed when she released her song, “Turn Your Life Upside Down” which is what happened and the number of followers increased overnight.
