When I started listening to this band’s song” Not Today” the intro reminded me of the classic song, “Draggin the Line” by Tommy James. The song caught my attention and I needed to check out this band.

Moon Mates from Regensburg, Germany first got together in 2019 after their guitarist, Ben Hoffmeister quit his rock band. The band consists of singer Gloria Muschaweck, singer/guitarist Ben Hoffmeister, bassist Peter Schrenberger and drummer Lucas Adlhoch. The band’s music is a reflection of their musical influences such as Fleetwood Mac and 70s rock sound. The band admits getting together during the pandemic created quite a challenge. They had several dates booked to play but then everything had to be cancelled. This didn’t stop them from recording and in 2020 released their single, “Easy Fix” and followed it up a year later with their fun EP Random Dad Barbeque Music and the single, “ Pieces.” Their sound mixes rock with elements of folk music with some atmospheric vibes for good measure. They just released their latest single “Not Today” which I have added to my playlist. Check out this talented band and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
