Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

TWOFER TUESDAY

This punk rock band from England has been getting quite a bit of attention. The band Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes got together in 2015 with lead singer Frank Carter and guitarist Dean Richardson. They met when Frank Carter asked Dean Richardson to create a website for him and they have been making music ever since. I admit Frank Carter gives off Thom Yorke of Radiohead vibes in both looks and singing.

They made their debut in 2015 with the EP Rotten and in the same year made their album debut with Blossom. The album was an emotionally charged one relating to sadness and not knowing what to do with it. Since then the band has toured and even released a live album in 2017. Singer Frank Carter describes their sound as a mix of rock, hardcore, and punk rock. He says “Punk to me is not a sound, it's not a fashion, it's not a lifestyle, it's a mindset. You either have it or you don’t.” They have gone through member changes but as it stands other than Frank Carter and Dean Richardson there is also Tom Barclay on bass and keyboards, Elliot Russell on guitar and synthesizer, and Gareth Grover on drums.

They are about to release a new album Dark Rainbow on January 26th and I love their song, “Man of the Hour.” They will be on tour so be sure to catch them live. Support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
