Soul and R&B singer-songwriter Bernarr Ferebee Jr. known as Durand Bernarr is someone to keep your eyes and ears on. His music caught my attention and he is familiar with the stage.

He grew up at home with his vocal and music teacher mother and his dad was an audio engineer. Music was his destiny and at 16 his father took him on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire as a production assistant. His mother had him in church absorbing all the gospel sounds, which awakened his love to pursue music.  He says his influences are Erykah Badu, Little Richard, and Rick James. He started releasing videos on YouTube and quickly gained a following. In 2010 he released an EP 8ight: The Stepson of Erykah Badu that caught her attention and later he became her backup singer. He still tours with her today. Since that amazing opportunity, Durand Bernarr has collaborated with artists such as Ari Lennox, Thundercat, Queen Hevby, Kaytranada, and more. He has released several albums and EPs and in May debuted his new EP En Route, and his new single “Fist Bump.” He is now on tour with his Rollin With the Homies Skate Experience and will be here in Brooklyn, NY on July 17th.
