Brother Dege was an artist featured by both playMYmusic.FM and Indispensable Music, and sadly he is no longer with us.

Louisiana native Dege Legg  recorded six excellent albums before he passed away in March. Steeped in the Cajun and blues culture of his home, Brother Dege had an incredible sound and an ear for what could draw a listener in. Glide Magazine called him “one of the best-kept secrets in Louisiana…priming those depths of filthy slide guitar, Faulknerian lyrics, and a Ry Cooder-like cinematic touch."  His last record, Aurora, heavily featured the Dobro (a resonator guitar made by Gibson), acoustic and electric guitars and his evocative voice.  He’s known to cinema junkies from his inclusion in  Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. His music was cinematic yet personal, with musicians skilled in the use of slide guitars and Delta blues that sound utterly contemporary while staying true to their Deep Southern roots. He will be missed.
