This singer-songwriter from Nairobi is creating quite a stir on the music scene. Meet Bien Aimé Baraza professionally known as Bien. He is the singer-songwriter and guitarist of the band Sauti Sol. He is a multi-instrumentalist and like several of his bandmates is doing some solo projects.

Most musicians have great support from their parents but sometimes that may not be the case. Bien’s dad wishes he would pursue having a real job, but with his success both with his band and on his own, I think dad may change his mind. He studied journalism at the United States International University and graduated with his degree. The band Sauti Sol is an award-winning pop band from Kenya. They made their debut in 2008 with the album, MWanzo to critical acclaim and have been going strong ever since. I love their song “My Everything” featuring Indie. Arie. Bien just released his solo project and his new single, “True Love” on the Colors Show. Also check out his single, “Ma Cherie.” Incidentally in Spanish bien means good and this artist is definitely beyond good. I have added his songs to my playlist.
