If you are listening to her new single, “Floating on a Moment” the voice may sound familiar to you. Singer-songwriter Beth Gibbons is also known as the lyricist and frontwoman for the British band Portishead. You may remember their hit song ”Give Me a Reason to Love You” which I still love today.
She has released a few solo albums with her first, Out of Season in 2002. Beth Gibbons is always stretching her creative muscle and even recorded an album with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2019. Variety magazine once described her performance as “Billie Holiday fronting Siouxsie and The Banshees.” She is back with a new single, “Floating On a Moment” and will release her new album Lives Outgrown on May 17th. When she comes to your city or town be sure to check her out live. Support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
