If you love funky rhythms, this singer is for you. Meet Beatrice Akuvi Hosen Kumordzi professionally known as Akuvi whose roots are from Norway and Ghana. Her music is a fusion of these heritages mixed with afro-beats and more. Both her sister Anna-Lisa Kumonji and her father Kofi Kumonji are artists therefore music was a natural career to pursue
Burna Boy, Jorja Smith, and Lauryn Hill inspired her growing up. Her music mixes afro-beats with Neo-soul, and hip-hop, adding her soulful vocals creating a gumbo of music you can’t stop moving to. She debuted in 2019 with the single “Free Me from Me” and describes her music as “reggae-infused neo-soul. In 2022 she released her single, “What We Are” which was considered more pop.
