Many independent artists nowadays are young and very talented singers and musicians. Stephanie Poetri, full name Stephanie Poetri Dougharty is one such artist. She was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is the daughter of the Indonesian pop singer, Titi DJ. Bacon. She started singing as a child but didn't really take music seriously or decide that this would be her career until she started writing her own songs. Her voice has a sweet melodic style to it and her songs are of love and romance. She made her debut last year with the single, Appreciate which she sang bilingually in Bahasa Indonesia and in English.
