Nothing like a catchy song to get your attention. I first stumbled onto singer-songwriter, Mike Edel after hearing his song, Two of Us. This talented Canadian folk-rock singer has been making moves on the indie scene. As an artist, there are times when writing and recording that you have many people telling you what would be good on an album or how certain lyrics may flow or may not but singer Mike Edel decided it's time to trust your own instincts. In listening to his gut he's recorded some great songs and the music is feel good and sunny with passion. He says he's been influenced by the albums of artists such as Counting Crows and Death Cab For Cutie. In 2019 he had one of his songs Finish Line featured on American Idol, how's that for following your instincts. Since then he has moved from his beloved Victoria in British Columbia to Seattle, Washington, and things have been taking off. He made his debut in 2008 with his EP, Hide from the Seasons, and in 2011 released his album debut, The Last of Our Mountains. When he plays live he has a band and it's a tight set and can sound more rock music-oriented as to his style of a singer-songwriter. During this past year, he decided to get a van and tour in a new way by living and sleeping in your van. Last November he released his latest album, En Masse and we are looking forward to more from this talented singer-songwriter and can't wait to see him live.
