Bottomfeeders guitarist Chris Lyons had a bit of a dilemma. He had written new material that didn’t quite fit his group’s garage rock aesthetic. With songs that were “more laid back...I didn’t know what to do with them,” he told Guitar in 2021. So he grabbed guitarist Kunal Prakash and bassist Pete Campanelli from Jeff the Brotherhood as well as his musical partner, drummer Lucas Bogner from Bottomfeeders, to form Silver Synthetic. The band’s eponymous debut was released in 2021, and the sound was more concentrated psychedelia with a heavier jangle. Their latest single, “The Door,” will tide fans over until the next full-length album, with “lush with chiming guitars, rich harmonies and and their signature, tasteful noodling.” (Brooklyn Vegan)
