Rio de Janeiro native Rogê was a mainstay in Rio’s samba clubs until he relocated to LA.  Part of a new generation of Brazilian pop artists, he’s released his seventh album, Curyman. The singer/guitarist has been nominated for a Latin Grammy (with Arlindo Cruz) and collaborated with Seu Jorge on the appropriately titled Seu Jorge & Rogê.

The music is as infectious as it gets, with the Guardian noting the “sun-dappled, strings-laden debut [channels]  the rhythmic spirit of tropicalismo…the album soars thanks to Arthur Verocai’s orchestral arrangements.”
