Traveling through Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Sudan,  and eventually the Comoro Islands (an archipelago east of Mozambique and northwest of Madagascar, US-based producer and drummer Andrew Smith thoroughly soaked up local music influences. Honoring his musical education, he chose to record under the moniker MÒZÂMBÎQÚE on his debut album, For Never & Ever in 2018. On his latest project, Peril 1998, he’s teamed up with producer Soft Palace, with both working remotely but with common purpose. The rich electronic soundscape is augmented by guests The Philharmonik, Destiny Volina, and Pattie Lin.
