Genre-defying artist Gaika has eschewed categorization, though his music has been given many labels (gothic dancehall, alt-R&B, progressive rap, and industrial electronica to name a few). He calls it “Ghettofuturism." Easily traversing hazy atmospherics, hip hop, funk, and even grunge on his latest album, Drift, the multi-disciplinary artist (he’s also a writer and composer) also channels his Jamaican and Grenadan heritage.
