Gabriel da Rosa grew up in southern Brazil. During his youth, he heard a variety of musical styles from his DJ father. After a move to LA, he began to dig deeper into the music of his country, becoming a DJ himself. He met DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, founder of Stones Throw Records, and through their friendship he found his own creative outlet with collaborator Pedro Dom (Seu Jorge, Ian Ramil, Rodrigo Amarante). His full-length debut É o que a casa oferece (It's what the house offers), was produced by Dom, is an autobiographical exploration of da Rosa’s childhood and adult travels, revealing an exciting new contemporary bossa nova artist.
