London’s husband and wife duo Ferris & Sylvester are back with a second album, Otherness. Spanning Americana, blues, rock, psychedelic folk, and soul, the record weaves its stories through many textures. The record, “for anyone who feels like an outsider,” has a classic vibe, having been recorded on a vintage '60s tape machine. The music and lyrics convey great emotional depth, and Ferris’ vocals are sublime (Rolling Stone has praised their “immaculate harmonies”). This album is a real treat, and it’s guaranteed to be included in my Top 10 list this year. It’s that good!
