Beth Jeans Houghton AKA Du Blonde has released a new album that is almost entirely self-produced. Written, performed, engineered and produced by Houghton, she had a little outside help for some drum parts, but otherwise it’s her vision and labor on Sniff More Gritty. There’s a defiant buoyancy to her songs, celebrating freedom from those who have tried to control her in the past. Clash agrees, and affirms the “ bigger, hookier and more colourful than anything that has come before. Theatrical rock meets scuzzy grunge-pop to create hands-in-the-air, sing-along moments.”
