Best of Twofer Tuesday 2022

by Rosie G.

I can't believe we are almost at the end of the year. Lots of great music has been released that we featured this past year. Here are my Top Ten 2ferTuesday artists that really struck a chord with me. Check out the Archives for more.

Lizzy McAlpine

I was floored by her vocal pitch and tone. The lyrics are amazing and her pauses for emphasis on certain verses were outstanding. I have this song on constant play on my playlist. Bravo Lizzy.

Dea Matrona

The sisters from Ireland know how to rock and I love their song "So Damn Dangerous."

Polyphia

I was going through Instagram and I came upon their lead guitarist Tim Henson's playing and I was enamored. His guitar playing is outstanding and I love that his guitars have distinguishable designs and the sound is otherworldly. So happy for them, they are finally getting recognized on a larger scale.

FEATURED TRACK: "Neurotica"

Lauren Sanderson

I loved her visuals and the danceable track Sensory Overload is one song I love dancing to. I hope to hear more from this artist in 2023.

Samm Henshaw

Neo-Soul singer from London blew me away with his album Untidy Soul. If you love soul music and great singers then you must check out the album.

Monophonics

This band from San Francisco mixes funk, soul, and psychedelic music and the sound takes me back to 60s and 70s soul psychedelic sounds.

Fontaines D.C.

It's not often that a punk rock band catches my attention but the Irish rock band Fontaines DC did just that. Love this band and I hope they come to play here in NYC next year.

FEATURED TRACK: "Jackie Down the Line"

Nicolas Veroncaste

I'm a David Bowie fanatic and although this song has been remade by several singers, Peter Gabriels's version is still my absolute favorite but French singer-songwriter Nicolas Veroncastel did an amazing job here.

FEATURED TRACK: "Heroes"

Adria Kain

This singer's music and the groove get me every time. Her songs at times remind me of Prince's slow grooves that you couldn't stop listening to.

Spoon

I'm still playing this song on my playlist. It just gets me moving and wakes me up in the morning. Let's hope they release another album next year.
